Salvatore Carannante is a pianist, composer and sound designer.
His main musical focus is orchestral music, both in its pure form but also in combination with electronic and experimental elements. Salvatore writes music in numerous genres ranging from classic to experimental music, for both small and large ensembles.
Born in Naples, Italy, he studied at the Conservatory San Pietro a Majella in Naples, graduating first in Piano and then in Electronic Music and New Technologies.
As Sound Designer, many of his sound projects aimed to recycling everyday objects as musical instruments. He directs his studies toward the contemporary and experimental music, spreading the various arts of sound through old and new instruments, with a particular interest in the human-instruments-environment interaction.
Currently, Salvatore is teaching Musical Technologies at Music High School in Italy, in addition he is working as a freelance composer.
