SalCaran (Salvatore Carannante) is a hybrid musician who blends the world of classical music with electronic experimentation. He designs and builds electroacoustic instruments to generate unique soundscapes, creating compositions that foster a dialogue between his two sonic identities.

Salvatore seeks out environments with peculiar acoustic reflections to perform with his instruments, exploring the interaction between human, space, and sound. This research led to a long-standing collaboration with the software house AudioThing, culminating in the “Environments” project.

A classically trained pianist, composer, and sound designer, he was awarded first prize at Olefestival for the “Spare Parts Sound Project,” an initiative focused on transforming everyday objects into musical instruments. His compositions for ensemble and electronics have been published and performed in numerous public concerts.

Alongside his creative and research work, Salvatore is a dedicated piano instructor, sharing his technical expertise and artistic vision with his students.
